Over the past several weeks, we have noticed that there are no interview slots available for drop box eligible H and L visa applicants in India. However, several interview appointments have opened for H and L applicants requiring a personal interview. Several interview appointments are available in Hyderabad and Mumbai and limited slots are available in Chennai and Kolkata. Drop box eligible applicants who need to return to the U.S. urgently may consider using this option to schedule an in-person appointment.

At the time of this writing, it is unclear if this is an unwritten policy to push all H and L applicants to appear for a personal interview.
