Our regular readers are aware of the process involved in obtaining status as Overseas Citizen of India (OCI). Among other benefits, OCI card permits the holders to stay in India for extended periods of time, without having to register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) having jurisdiction over the place of residence.
Some applicants received the OCI cards with mismatched or unclear photographs. Such OCI holders, if living abroad, should contact the nearest Indian Embassy / Consulate or if living in India, the nearest FRRO with a request to have the same re-printed with clear photograph. Upon receiving the request, the Indian Immigration authorities may at their discretion reprint the OCI card with the updated photograph. Any associated processing / shipping fee has to be borne by the OCI holder.
