One may recall that due to COVID-19, the risk of transmission and infections, the U.S. mission in India stopped accepting visa applications since March 16, 2020. Following the announcement, all the existing visa appointments were automatically cancelled.

As of this writing, the bio-metric and visa appointments at the various U.S. consular posts in India are available for booking on www.ustraveldocs.com/in. Interview dates at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi and the U.S. consulates in Mumbai, Kolkata and Hyderabad are available from October 2020 onwards. The U.S. consular post in Chennai has interview dates being offered only in February 2021.

We urge all visa applicants to keep their applications and documents ready to schedule the first available visa interview.
