Subscribers of MurthyIndiaBulletin and regular visitors to MurthyIndiaDotCom are aware that the U.S. Citizenship Services section of the U.S. Consulate General, Chennai, sponsors an outreach program that provides periodic help sessions for U.S. Citizens. The next outreach program will be held in Bengaluru – formerly Bangalore – on July 6, 2012. U.S. Citizens can avail themselves of the following services with prior confirmed appointments:

U.S. Passport renewals for minors;
First-time passport applications for minors;
Filing for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA);
Notary Services;

U.S. Citizens requiring any of the above services may write to chennaicsoutreach@state.gov with the name of the applicant and type of service required. More information on American Citizenship Services and the documentary requirements can be obtained from the consular website. American Citizens can continue to email chennaics@state.gov with other enquires or concerns.
