It is important for U.S. non-immigrant visa applicants to know that once an appointment is scheduled, s/he will not be permitted to update the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) Code (DS160 Confirmation Code) or applicant’s address or other contact information on www.ustraveldocs.com/in; the official visa information and interview scheduling website for U.S. mission in India. Previously, applicants were permitted to update this information on their profile until the biometrics (or appointment at visa application center) is completed. This feature to update the CEAC Code / DS160 confirmation code, allowed applicants who after scheduling the visa interview, realized that they made any error on the form DS160 to create a new form and update the confirmation code. With the new system, one will have to cancel the existing appointment to update the new CEAC confirmation code. Alternatively, if the applicant is unable to cancel and schedule a new interview, s/he may present the new confirmation sheet at time of interview. At their discretion the interviewing officer may choose to accept the new updated application in place of the old one.

We urge U.S. non-immigrant visa applicants to review each entry carefully prior to submission of the form and ensure all details provided on the profile are accurate prior to scheduling the visa interview to avoid unnecessary confusion or delay in process.
