The World Health Organization (WHO) on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 issued an Emergency Use List (EUL) to India’s indigenously developed vaccine – COVAXIN (developed by Bharat Biotech). With this approval, COVAXIN is the eighth COVID-19 vaccine validated by WHO for the prevention of COVID-19 caused by SARS-CoV-2. This press release can be found here.
Millions of Indians who had taken this vaccine were anxiously awaiting this approval.
