Several non-immigrant U.S. visa applicants in India received an email from the visa application centre (VAC) on February 2, 2024, informing them that their respective visa appointments were cancelled. This email notification did not provide any reasons for the cancellation and advised the applicants to log in to their profiles for further details. 

This led to panic and confusion with visa applicants as they had scheduled visa interview several months in advance, especially for the B category. Thankfully, this email was followed up with another email from the VAC on February 3, 2024, notifying that there was no change to the appointment scheduled with the VAC and the Embassy/Consulate and advising visa applicants to ignore the email dated February 2, 2024. 

This notification further clarifies that the applicant(s) do not have to contact the call centre or Consulate regarding this and they should just proceed further with their original appointments, as scheduled. 

We advise applicants to login to their profile and verify whether the scheduled appointments are reflected.
