A recent notification on the official U.S. department of State website for visa appointments indicates that the consulate will begin processing of pending IR1/2 and CR1/2 cases (spouses and children of U.S. citizens) which were refused pursuant to INA 221(g). This update can be found here and a related update on the U.S. embassy website can be found here.
When we login to the profile for immigrant visa applicants, an option is listed for IR1/2 and CR1/2 visa categories, however, if we select this, interview dates are not yet available. We expect this to resume in the near future. Additionally, options are listed for Class B medical applicants; IV Expedite Cases (when written notification is received from the U.S. consulate in Mumbai); K visas, and INA 221(g) pending cases to submit requested documents.
Applicant(s) should be careful to select the option applicable to his/her specific case. Choosing an incorrect option would result in the appointment being cancelled.
