Readers may be aware the U.S. consulate in Mumbai processes all immigrant visa applications in India. In a recent update, the U.S. consulate, Mumbai has notified that they will resume processing of all Immigrant visa applications from today, June 7, 2021.
This includes the following:
- Rescheduling of cancelled immigrant visa appointments
- SB-1 (Returning resident application)
- Boarding foil
- Re-issuance of expired visas
- K visa applications (Though one would complete form DS160, this is processed under immigrant visa system)
If an interview was previously cancelled, the consulate will contact the applicant on their registered email address with instructions on how to proceed further. The notification also indicates that only limited interview slots are available for now and they will add more when possible. The consulate has also resumed processing cases pending under INA 221g.
