Regular visitors to MurthyIndiaDotCom and subscribers to MurthyIndiaBulletin may be aware that a non-immigrant visa applicant needed to cancel and existing appointment to be able to schedule a new one.
A recent feature on www.ustraveldocs.com/in permits non-immigrant visa applicants in India to reschedule the biometric and visa appointment without having to cancel the existing one, providing the biometrics have not been completed. Effectively, the visa applicant can view availability of dates prior to making any changes to the existing one. If the applicant has already completed the biometrics, then s/he may have to wait until the appointment is a “No-Show”. The applicant may contact the support desk on support-india@ustraveldocs.com to request for the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) pin to be released. It is not advisable to do this unless there is an unavoidable circumstance requiring the rescheduling of visa appointment after completion of biometrics.
We at Murthy Immigration Services, strongly recommend that one should schedule the biometrics one working day prior to the visa interview to have flexibility of rescheduling the visa appointment in case of any contingency.
