Presidential Proclamation (P.P.) 10014 which suspended entry of certain immigrant visa applicants was rescinded by President Biden on February 24, 2021. This means that there is no longer any restriction on issuance of immigrant visas. Accordingly, the U.S. Consulate in Mumbai and the Embassy in Delhi, which process all immigrant visas in India have started providing appointments for immigrant visa interviews.

If the immigrant visa applicant has not been interviewed yet, then s/he should check the appropriate consular website to see if regular operations have resumed. If so, then the consulate will schedule the immigrant visa interview.

If the immigrant visa application was refused due to P.P. 10014, then such applicants need to wait for instructions from the U.S. embassy or consulate where they were interviewed. The U.S. Department of State will reconsider cases that were previously refused pursuant to P.P. 10014 and will contact applicants directly, if additional information is needed for further processing of the visa.
