This article is for someone who had created a profile for a U.S. visa application in India using www.ustraveldocs.com/in (irrespective of the fact the person applied for a visa or not) and later moved to another country, and needs to apply for a U.S. visa from that country.
Applying from a country that is serviced by CGI Group Inc.
Applicant(s) do not have to create a new profile. They need to contact the support desk in India with their passport number, unique identification number (UID) or the eMail ID used to create the profile in India and request the support desk to update the country in which s/he needs to apply for a U.S. visa. The support desk will do the needful and once the country is updated, the applicant should use the same profile to schedule an interview. The CGI support desk contact information is available here.
Applying from a country that is not serviced by CGI Group Inc.
If s/he is applying from a country that is not serviced by CGI Group Inc., the applicant should be able to create a new profile using the U.S. Consular Support Services offered for the respective country.
It is important to note that applicants will not be able to transfer the machine-readable visa (MRV) fee from one country to another even though one pays only the USD equivalent.
