With effect from Tuesday, April 18, 2017, the consular exchange rate has been revised to ₹68 to one US$.

This revision in exchange rate will affect the Indian rupee equivalent for all application fees paid on or after April 18, 2017. The revision is applicable across all non-immigrant and immigrant visa applications, and American Citizenship services. Effectively, the new non-immigrant visa application fee is ₹10,880 (equivalent to US$160 for non-petition-based visa categories) and ₹12,990 (equivalent to US$190 for petition-based visa categories). Applicants who paid their fees prior to April 18, 2017 can use the respective AXIS / Citibank / NEFT confirmation within one year from the date of payment of the visa application fees.
