Effective May 29, 2018, the consular exchange rate has been revised to ₹70 to one US$.

This revision in exchange rate will affect the Indian rupee equivalent for all application fees paid on or after May 29, 2018. The revision is applicable across all non-immigrant and immigrant visa applications, and American Citizenship services. Effectively, the new non-immigrant visa application fee is ₹11,200 (equivalent to US$160 for non-petition-based visa categories) and ₹13,300 (equivalent to US$190 for petition-based visa categories).

Applicants who paid their fees prior to May 29, 2018 can use the respective AXIS / Citibank / NEFT confirmation within one year from the date of payment of the visa application fees. This update can be found here.
