The U.S. mission in India has arranged a series of flights to take back U.S. citizens and certain U.S. Legal Permanent Residents (LPRs) to the United States.
There are two flights arranged for this week. One is scheduled to depart on April 7, 2020 and the other on April 10, 2020. The notification also indicates that the U.S. government is unsure if they will be able to arrange flights after this week and urges U.S. citizens / LPRs who wish to return to the U.S. to act now. This update can be found here.
U.S. citizens and LPRs (subject to availability of seats) intending to return to the United States should register here. If you are a LPR and have spent close to 12 months outside the United States and do not hold a valid re-entry permit or if you hold a re-entry permit and the validity is about to expire, then it is important to consider returning to the U.S.
We strongly recommend U.S. citizens and LPRs who wish to join their families back in the U.S. to make use of this opportunity. It is also important to weigh the health implications while making this important decision.
