An attorney from Murthy Immigration Services recently reached out to the Consul General at the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Consul General was kind to share important updates, which we disseminate for the benefit of our readers.
- The document collection / delivery centers are operational. However, no new visa applications are accepted at this time.
- The consular post is processing applications that were received prior to the lock-down and the same are being processed and returned through the document collection centers.
- It is difficult to predict when regular operations will resume, however, once regular operations resume, in addition to services already extended to US citizens, priority will be given to eligible immigrant visa applications.
- Other non-immigrant visa applications including applications eligible for drop box will be entertained in a phased manner.
We at MISPL thank the Consul General for his valuable time and insight into the current situation at the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh which will be helpful for those who are stuck and wondering when they will be able to travel to the U.S.
