In November 2016, we had reported that the U.S. consular posts in India relaxed the number of times a U.S. nonimmigrant visa applicant may reschedule an interview appointment. Previously, applicants could reschedule their appointments up to fourteen times. This has been recently restricted. Effective immediately, once an interview is scheduled, nonimmigrant applicants are permitted to reschedule an appointment up to four times. We at Murthy Immigration Services have confirmed this with the support desk of the U.S. Missions in India over phone. We strongly recommend applicants to check with the support desk for any change in the system prior to rescheduling his/her appointment.
We will continue to bring the updates on any changes to this system for our readers.
